Thanksgiving is just a few short days away and pretty soon we will start to hear the bells from volunteers of Salvation Army. Usually I’m either trying to hurry out of the cold or holding on to one of my kiddos hands. Either way I never have any change readily available. This year I decided to put the change directly in my pocket when the cashier hands it back. That way I can easily have it ready when exiting the store. A romantic dinner is a great way to show you care and it’s also inexpensive, if you cook it yourself and create a candlelight atmosphere in your home or apartment.
Choose something that is related to something he enjoys, whether it’s his job or a different hobby. A fisherman, hunter, or hiker would probably love a gift card to a store like Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shops or something else related to those hobbies. A more appropriate gift for a manager or executive might be a tie or a nice watch. Sports nuts will love anything related to their favorite teams or sports.
Most guys love gadgets, so shop for interesting technological things. Pre-wrapped gifts usually cater to guys’ interests in unique “toys,” so don’t neglect those displays that appear around the holidays. Swiss Army knives also appeal to that love of gadgetry.
Does he collect something? Try to find out what he’s missing and buy it, if it’s something you can afford.
If you’ve been together for a while, think about getting something like a photo album, picture frame, or a keychain engraved with your names or a special message. A personalized gift is a great way to tell someone how much you care about them.

Nintendo Predicts No Wii Shortages This Year

If you’re of the (perhaps few) people left who don’t yet have a Wii, you can rest assured that it will be much easier to buy one this year. At least, that’s what Nintendo is claiming, according to a report from MSNBC and Wired. Since the Wii system first came out in 2006, it’s been nearly impossible to find, particularly at Christmas. Retailers receive shipments that sell out in just a few days (or a few hours), and parents are forced to camp out or wait in line to make sure that their kids receive the gift that they truly want. If what Nintendo says is true, perhaps the market is becoming saturated and their strategy of selective scarcity is no longer working positively for the brand.
